Donegal Catch Prawns Pil Pil with garlic, chilli, oil and parsley served with sourdough bread

Prawns Pil-Pil

Recreate a holiday classic at home this weekend with our prawns pil-pil. Serve sizzling prawns in garlic, chilli, olive oil, butter and parsley. This works perfectly as a starter with some sourdough bread.

Ingredients

2 packets of Donegal Catch Prawns, defrosted

125 ml extra virgin olive oil

3 large cloves of garlic, finely sliced

1 small red chilli, finely sliced

¼ teaspoon smoked sweet paprika

Generous pinch of chilli flakes

Salt and black pepper

To serve:

Handful of flat leaf parsley, finely chopped

Sourdough toast

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil in a pan over a medium heat and gently fry the garlic and chilli with the paprika and chilli flakes until just turning golden.
  2. Add the prawns and increase the heat and fry until they are hot throughout, which should only take 2 - 3 minutes.
  3. Season well with sea salt and freshly ground black pepper and serve immediately scattered with chopped parsley with the toast alongside.
