Is there anything better than a classic Prawn Cocktail at a Christmas or New Year’s party? Retro, refreshing and always a crowd-pleaser, it’s the perfect festive starter. Made using our juicy, Cooked & Peeled King Prawns — high in protein, low in fat, and ready to enjoy straight after defrosting — this simple dish comes together in minutes. Crisp lettuce, creamy avocado and a silky homemade Marie Rose sauce make entertaining effortless.

Ingredients
- 180g Cooked & Peeled King Prawns, defrosted (see pack for instructions)
- ½ small cos lettuce, shredded
- ½ ripe avocado, diced
- 6 cherry tomatoes, quartered
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 2 tbsp salad cream
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp lemon juice (plus extra wedges to serve)
- Salt & pepper, to taste
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley, to garnish
- 2 cocktail glasses, for serving
Instructions
- Shred the cos lettuce and divide between two cocktail glasses
- Dice the avocado and add a spoonful to each glass.
- Quarter the cherry tomatoes and scatter them over the lettuce.
- In a bowl, whisk together the ketchup, salad cream, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and a pinch of salt and pepper to make the Marie Rose dressing
- Fold the defrosted prawns into the dressing until evenly coated.
- Spoon the dressed prawns on top of the salad.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and serve with a wedge of lemon.
